Looking for the best YouTube channels to help your kids learn French?

When I started looking into this, I was surprised to see how few resources were available, or I should say how few high quality resources were available related to French for kids. If French is not your first language, then it’s really not easy to know what is good and what is not.

So, I spent some time researching this for you, and I’ve curated a list of my top 5 YouTube channels that make learning French fun and engaging for kids.

Whether your little ones are beginners or already have some knowledge of the language, these channels are perfect for expanding their vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and developing a love for the French language.

So, let’s dive in and explore the 5 best YouTube channels for kids to learn French!

#1 Blabber Beasts

It’s a fairly small channel but I really enjoyed their content. The animation is really fun, and it teaches everyday French vocabulary that will be useful to the kids.

I think this channel deserves to grow, big thumb up from me for entertainment value. Even though I know all the vocabulary they are teaching, I still wanted to watch everything. I’m convinced your kids will love it. The only downside, there are no songs. Fun French for kids channel!

#2 Learn French Through Music

I like this channel because it’s got songs. The songs are mostly piano and voice. They cover topics like colors and numbers, and it does have conjugation lessons so it’s great for those who want to dig a little deeper in their French knowledge

This channel is in fact also suitable for French kids who want a fun way to learn their conjugation. It’s the first time I see this kind of lessons through songs, I wish I had learned in this way when I was a kid, so this channel also gets a thumb up from me.

#3 Basho & Friends

Although the male singer on this channel is not native French, his French is good and his accent is very discreet. The French in the songs is good, they are fun and engaging and the female singer sounds native to me. I’m happy to recommend this channel as I think the kids will enjoy singing along and learn French phrases and vocabulary along the way

On the channel the kids can also learn Spanish, but since we are talking about French here, I will link to their French playlist

#4 Titounis

The Titounis is a favorite of French kids, and could potentially become a favorite of kids who want to learn French

The entire channel is in French, but they have a specigic video tailored to kids who have French as a second language so I will link to that one below, as it’s probably best to start with it

#5 The High Meows

Of course I have to add our own channel to this list. I specifically created this channel to help parents who want their small kids to learn French. On the channel you’ll find regular nursery rhyme type songs but also bilingual songs aimed at teaching French as well as actual lessons with our animated characters.

We decided to mix the content so kids don’t feel frustrated with the learning and alternate songs to dance, song to deal with emotions and songs or lessons to learn French. We add new lessons weekly

Here’s the link to the specific learn French playlist:
