Things are changing. As artists, we have to learn how to adapt constantly. This pandemic is forcing the voice over world to look at new ways to keep working.

So what can you, the actor, do to keep working during this crisis?

  1. Make sure your materials are up to date. When was the last time you recorded a demo? Did you learn a new accent? A new character? Most voice over actors have the means to record decent quality demos from home. So don’t hesitate to do so.
  2. Reach out to companies you’ve either worked with before, or never worked with before. You never know, you may be just what they’re looking for at this exact moment. Follow them on Instagram. Our Instagram is @voffla_ .
  3. Source connect. If you’re in the voice over world, you have now heard the words “SOURCE CONNECT” come up daily. We know that because of this crisis, spending money may be the last thing you have on your mind. But source connect is a wonderful tool that is being used by (almost) every studio we know of. TIP: if you do get it, use a DSL cable instead of WIFI to make sure your connection remains stable.
  4. Learn something new. Do your research. Watch cartoons, research video games, watch online tutorials (good ones!). With a lot of time on your hands, this is the perfect time to perfect your craft.
  5. Mental and physical health. This crisis is hard on literally everyone. Artists are being hurt just like everyone else. And this can have an impact on your mental health. Make sure you do things that make you happy. Go outside, get some fresh air (away from people). Work out. Sing. Do what you need to do. This too shall pass.

At VOFFLA, we are fully operational. We would like to thank Source Connect for allowing us to work during this pandemic.

We are looking forward to working with you.
